As we age, our risk of developing heart disease, high cholesterol levels, weak joints and muscles, and host of other medical condition goes up. Most of the people who become ill feel frustrated and have feelings of despair. Many of these people may have said at one point in their lives something along the lines of, "It's not going to happen to me." But that's just setting themselves up later in life. Because "it" -- diseases, illnesses, tragedies -- can happen to anyone. This is why it is important that we take steps to prevent illnesses while we are still young.

Diabetes is a very serious and difficult disease to control. Once you've been diagnosed with diabetes, your life will never be the same again. However, with the right decisions, you can be as otherwise healthy as you ever were before. But aging healthfully when you have diabetes is a challenge.
